Bring Your Furry Friends Along To Join The Four Legged Fun In Aid Of Padworth Village Hall Charitable Trust
We had a record number of dog owners and their four legged friends in 2023 and can’t wait to see all your waggy tails again next year! Entry Forms Will Be Available On The Day At The Dog Registration Desk from Noon, but we strongly advise you to use our contact page to pre-register your details and the category you’d like to enter, as the dog show does get incredibly busy. The schedule will start in both arenas at 1pm. Please make contactless payment at the main show organisers desk or with cash into the hands free drop box at the dog registration desk, but please have the correct change as none will be available, in order to protect our volunteers from unnecessary contact.
☀️ DOGS IN HOT WEATHER! ☀️
We strenuously recommend that owners take advice from their vets if they are concerned about their dogs in the heat and we would always caution owners not to take part if they feel the weather is too hot for their dogs. We do have a shaded registration area and dog water bowls will be available on the day for use at owners discretion, as well as a hose pipe if you feel the need to cool your dog off even while just wandering around and enjoying the show! We Are looking forward to seeing you all - waggy tails at the ready!

EXAMPLES OF PREVIOUS JUDGES CRITIQUES
Last years dog show was fantastically well attended and incredibly well organised by our brilliant volunteers, stewards and judges. Here’s the critique from Judge Jenny Dove -
“It was a pleasure to judge at your well organized show and thrilled that you were able to hold the dog show this year. There was a great turn out and a friendly, happy atmosphere and lots of quality exhibits.”
AV Puppy dog or bitch.
1st. Golden Retriever male. Handsome 7 mths light golden, very handsome puppy who has great overall balance, lovely head and kind expression. Excellent overall confirmation and style, although still looks a baby on the move he is straight and true in front and rear.
Very well handled and presented.
When he loses his typical puppy weight, I am sure he has a great future in the ring.
Pleased to award him Best In Show amongst strong competition.
2nd. Parsons Jack Russell, very pretty 7 mths white/tan bitch, less mature than above but she has alot of good qualities and is totally sound, another I am sure will do well when matured and settled.
3rd..Irish Water Spaniel 6 mths male.
AV Pastoral dog or bitch.
1st. Rough Collie, 6 years mature bitch, has great type and stands with impressive dignity.
Unfortunately stood alone in this class but I liked everything about her, effortless side movement, in lovely coat and body, excellent presentation and handling, a little apprehensive today so had to lose out to the Golden for the top awards, still worthy of Reserve Best in Show and Best Bitch.
AV Utility & Toy dog or bitch.
1st. Tibetan Terrier, 21 mths bitch, beautifully presented black bitch, well bodied with typical square outline, well- furnished head with correct eye and expression. Good front and hind co-ordination, sound powerful mover, well handled.
2nd. Cavalier. Very mature 9 years old red/white male, in grand condition for his age who seemed to be thoroughly enjoying his day.
3rd. Cavalier.10 mths tri-coloured bitch.
AV Gundog dog or bitch.
1st. Golden Retriever, also winner of Puppy class.
2nd. Pointer.3year old bitch, feminine throughout, lovely outline and typical driving movement, unlucky to meet the very special puppy above.
3rd. English Setter. 4-year-old bitch, lovely to see as this breed is becoming relatively rare and they really do make great companions.
AV Hound & Terrier dog or bitch.
1st. Coonhound. 2-year-old male, this breed still being shown in the Import Register classes at KC shows, it was very nice to see one here today.
Big impressive, masculine -hound who has good overall balance and well bodied, he really moves with style and good presence, kept topline well on the move, excellent handler who got the best out of him.
2nd. Parson Jack Russell, promising 7 mths bitch who was 2nd in the Puppy class.
3rd. Afghan Hound.5 years old B/M Cream bitch, nicely constructed throughout and one I have judged before, looked good standing and well-presented but not happy on the move today.
AV Open dog or bitch.
1st. Coonhound, as before.
2nd. Afghan Hound.6 years old bitch, has good type and great for her age but outmoved today by the younger and more enthusiastic male above as was her kennel mate in the previous class.
3rd. Pointer. Very handsome black/white male, not disgraced by this placing amongst some very good quality competition.
